We're here to share with you the un-paralleled joy of skiing in Scandinavia, and take you through every step of planning your first ski holiday!

Learning to ski in Scandinavia

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, Scandinavia welcomes everyone that wants to enjoy the mountains! Locals are renowned for their un-pretentious, relaxed, helpful and outgoing personalities - and, as the saying goes, Scandinavians are "born with skis on their feet", meaning skiers in the area (which are often native) are competent, self-aware and patient when out on the slopes. You'll be met with the best ski-etiquette in the world!

To us, skiing in Scandinavia is not just a sport or a new skill to learn - it's an experience! From taking your first turns to gliding effortlessly through magical winter landscapes, you'll find your focus detaching from the mundane every day and reconnecting with a new sense of self belief and confidence. Whether you experience skiing as a new found bond between friends or family or enjoy the escapism and accomplishment of scaling the mountain, you'll understand why skiing is more than a past-time in Scandinavia, it's a way of life.

How does ski school work?

funSki Academy

What is a lift pass?

Lift passes are available to buy when you book with us and will be given to you by one of our skiScandinavia hosts when you arrive in resort.

A lift pass allows you to ski seamlessly around the mountain, giving you access to all button lifts and chairlifts.

How will I know what skis are right for me?

As well as expert guidance from the staff in the ski rental shop, we will be on hand to make sure you find the perfect fit.

Your height, weight and shoe size will be needed to configure some of the equipment.

What type of travel insurance do I need for a ski holiday?

Most standard travel insurance policies won't cover ski holidays, so it's important you choose the extra 'winter sports cover' to ensure you're fully protected.

What if skiing isn't for me? Are there other things to do in resort?

Stöten is a great base for families, groups, couples, and single travellers with plenty to do in resort and the surrounding area. From ski to spa, swimming to bowling, husky sledding to snowmobiling, we have a fabulous choice of extra activities you can add into your skiScandinavia holiday.
